Periodic Inspections

Periodic Inspection and Testing, is necessary because all electrical installations deteriorate due to a number of factors such as damage, wear & tear, corrosion, excessive electrical loading, ageing and environmentel influences.

Consequently legislation under The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, requires that certain electrical are maintained in a safe condition and therefore, must be periodically inspected and tested.

Public and Private Organisations following The Health & Saftey at Work Act (1974) will have to comply with legislation requires that certain electrical installation are maintained in a safe condition and therefore must be periodically inspect and tested.  Landlords/lady who rents out property are also governed by certain rules following:-

(a) to assess compliance with BS 7671

(b) change of owership or tenancy agreement

(c) on change of use of permises

(d) alterations or additional installation

(e) any significant change in the electrical installation

(f) where there is reason to believe that damage may have been caused to the

      installation.
